Patriotic Cream Cheese Ball

This Patriotic Cream Cheese Ball is a delicious and fun dessert for your 4th of July celebrations. It's sweet like funfetti cake batter, but still not overly rich.

One of the great things about this recipe is that you can customize it for your own celebrations. You can choose which type of sprinkles you want to use. If you want to make this recipe for Halloween, you can use orange and black sprinkles. For Christmas, you can use red and green sprinkles. And so on. You can also choose which foods to serve with the cream cheese ball.
To start, cream together the softened cream cheese and the softened butter until they are combined and smooth.
Add in the cake mix, sugar, and powdered sugar. Mix again until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Next, lay out a large piece of saran wrap. Shape the batter into a ball, and place it in the center of the saran wrap. Fully enclose the cream cheese ball in the saran wrap. Place it in the fridge for at least 2 hours to chill.
After the cheese ball is chilled, pour the sprinkles onto a plate. Unwrap the ball and roll it in the sprinkles. Completely cover the ball in sprinkles. Having the cream cheese ball cold will help it keep its shape while being rolled. Place the cream cheese ball on a serving platter and surround it with the cookies or crackers you chose. I highly recommend taking the ball out of the fridge and rolling it in sprinkles a little while before actually serving it. This will allow the ball to come closer to room temperature and soften slightly. I think it tastes better when it isn't super cold. And it's much easier to spread when it isn't very hard.
