Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
I know I'm a few days late, but things have been very busy here!

Taking care of a newborn, chasing around a toddler, Thanksgiving, Black Friday shopping, Georgia Tech football game, Christmas decorating, relatives in town, sleep deprivation…
I hope you’ll forgive me, but I have not had much free time lately…

Anyways, we did have an enjoyable Thanksgiving.
We hosted at our house this year. I know, it sounds crazy to host Thanksgiving when you already have your hands full with a new baby and a toddler.
But it’s actually what was easiest for us. And we had a lot of help.

Having Thanksgiving at our house meant that the kids had everything they needed. Toys, bottles, milk, diapers, extra clothes if necessary, etc. So we didn’t have to worry about packing everything up to go to Grandma’s house.

And, let’s be real, I like being the hostess. I haven’t had much opportunity lately to have people over, so it was nice. And I had lots of help. I cooked the turkey and made a dessert. My mom did most of the rest of the cooking. And my in-laws were in town, so they helped get the house clean, prep food, and do dishes.

Of course, I had to get some obligatory “My First Thanksgiving” pictures for Nicole.

And, I also managed to convince Elayne to wear a cute Thanksgiving dress, instead of her usual Elsa dress (that she insists she needs to wear everyday!). I was very proud of my accomplishment. Sometimes in motherhood, you have to take the little victories. 😊
Of course, I did some baking. I made a Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart for dessert. It was very yummy. And everyone enjoyed it. However... I wasn't fully satisfied with how it turned out. There are some changes I'd like to make for next time. I would like to make a larger amount of the dough, so that the crust can be slightly thicker next time. And I pour a thinner layer of chocolate. And make extra caramel so that the caramel layer can be a little thicker. I am going to try this tart again in the next couple weeks. And then I'll post the recipe if I'm happy with it.
