Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas!! I know... I'm late again... But, to be fair, things have been very busy in our house lately. Holidays in general are always busy, but handling a toddler and a 2 month old also makes everything more hectic.

Not to mention relatives coming into town, Christmas decorating and shopping, and all the festive holiday activities that occur this time of year.

This was the first year that Elayne really got into Christmas. So, of course, we tried to do as many Christmas and winter activities as possible. We had to go see Santa. Elayne really wanted to ask him to bring her an Anna and Elsa playset that she saw at Target.
We put up our tree and hung all the ornaments. And decorated our house.
We also went to see Christmas lights a couple times.
We took pictures at the mall with all the Christmas decorations.
We made Christmas sugar cookies for Santa.
And we decorated a gingerbread house.
Plus, tomorrow we’re going ice skating. Elayne has been begging us to go, probably because they ice skate at the end of Frozen 🤣

Our Christmas day was a lot of fun. Hectic, and it went by way too fast. But lots of fun.
We started our day off at our house. Just the 4 of us. We opened presents, had some cinnamon rolls, and relaxed a little.

Elayne, being completely obsessed with Frozen at the moment, had a very Frozen-filled Christmas, complete with a 2½ foot Elsa doll, another Elsa dress, and some Frozen figurines.

Then we packed up our stuff and headed over to my parents’ house to do more Christmas celebration there. We opened more presents, ate some brunch, watched Elayne play with her new toys, played some fun Christmas games, and just hung out. It was fun, but it was over way too quickly.

It seems like Christmas comes and goes quicker every year. Of course I get stressed around the holidays, like everyone does. But I’ve been trying very hard to worry less and just enjoy the fun times with the kids when they’re young. Because all too soon they will have outgrown decorating gingerbread houses or going to see lights. I want to make as many memories as possible before they lose interest.
