Elayne is Four!! | Mixed by Mark

I can't believe my first baby is already four years old!!! Elayne had a really great time at her birthday party with her friends. She is really growing into her own person, and it's so fun to watch.

I know I’m a bit late - it has been a very busy last few weeks.
Between the birthday party, going to the beach for fall break, Nicole and me getting colds, preparing for Nicole’s upcoming birthday party, and pulling out the Halloween decorations, I have had very little free time.

It really is true what they say - they grow up so fast. Sometimes, it feels like we were just bringing Elayne home from the hospital. Tommy and I were so anxious about anything happening to her. Worried about if she was too hot or too cold. Stressing when she wouldn’t sleep.

Now we stress over so many other things - potty training, Elayne's self-confidence and independence, etc. But we love Elayne so much, and we are so proud of the girl she is growing into. She is so smart and sweet. And she is the best big sister to Nicole.

Elayne’s birthday party was a lot of fun. So much work, but also fun. And the important thing is that Elayne really enjoyed it.

Of course, I made the birthday cake. Ariel themed, because that is Elayne’s newest obsession. And every time I make these cakes, I get so stressed. And I start thinking “Why do I do this to myself?!” But it always turns out well, even though I stress and worry about screwing it up. But seeing Elayne’s face as she looks at her cake makes it all worth it.
