Nicole is One!!

It doesn’t seem long ago that I was trying to learn to navigate how to handle two young kids at once. Dealing with both a toddler and a baby is not easy, and it definitely takes some getting used to. But somehow over the past year I managed to get it handled. Every phase of Nicole’s and Elayne’s growth brings new challenges, but we’ve managed to figure things out. And we’ve had lots of fun along the way.
It also really helps that Elayne is such an excellent big sister. There is some jealousy, as there always will be with siblings, but Elayne really likes to be a good role model for Nicole. And it’s adorable to watch them together.

For Nicole's birthday, we had an "Our Little Pumpkin is One" party. Nicole seemed to enjoy it a lot. She ate a bunch of food, particularly enjoying the doughnut holes, and she walked around and enjoyed having all the attenion on her.

Of course, I made the cake and Nicole’s smash cake, decorated with pumpkins to be thematic.
It was a good bit of work, and I’m still working on improving my cake decorating, but I had fun doing it.

And, I also made these Pumpkin Spice Cookies to have at her party as well.
