Tommy’s work did a potluck lunch before Thanksgiving. And so, of course, he asked if I was interested in baking something for him to take in. They were doing a tailgate/football themed lunch. So lots of finger foods and easy treats. So I decided to make these football treats.

They are super easy to make. Just like making normal rice krispy treats. Except you use Cocoa Krispies instead of normal Rice Krispies.

Start by measuring out the Cocoa Krispies; set them aside in a medium bowl. Also measure out the mini marshmallows, and set them aside in another bowl. I always like to have these measured out ahead of time, so that I can grab them quickly once ready to use.

In a medium pan, over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows, stirring almost continuously, til fully melted and smooth.
When the marshmallows are completely melted, remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the Cocoa Krispies until they are fully coated. Allow the mixture to cool for about 10 minutes.
While the rice krispy mixture is cooling, lay out a sheet of wax paper. Once cooled slightly, spray hands with cooking spray. Scoop out a large spoonful of rice krispy mixture, and mold into a football shape. Without the cooking spray, the rice krispies will stick to your hands and will be impossible to mold into shape. Place the football on the wax paper to cool completely.

After the football treats are fully cooled, melt the white chocolate. You don’t need very much chocolate, so I just melted mine in the microwave, instead of using a double boiler. Then I placed the melted chocolated in a little squeeze bottle to make the football design. If you don’t have a squeeze bottle, you could use a piping bag, or even a ziploc bag.
Allow the white chocolate designs to set before serving your treats.
